The water temperatures in the spring of 2001 suddenly went into the high 70's and 80's for several days, many dead steelhead were seen everywhere.

The spring run of steelhead in Rocky River was the latest and greatest I've ever seen.  They suddenly appeared, in unbelievable numbers, in the lower sections of the river.  They were in areas spawning that I never seen spawning fish before.

Unknowingly, the unknowledgeable sight fisherman continued pounding on them 24/7 and contributed to the death of many steelhead. These are dead fish I saw in the tail out of one pool.
